Five Star Award Criteria -- 2016-2017

The Southwest District shall recognize clubs whose members participate in District affairs by attending District meetings and events. The Five Star Award shall be presented annually to all clubs who are represented at the following District meetings: 

  • Southwest District Governor Michael Iafrato’s official visit to the Division.
  • International President Jane Erickson’s official visit to the District.
  • Southwest District Midyear Educational Conference.
  • Southwest District Convention. 
  • International Convention (unless held outside the North American continent).

For Governor Michael Iafrato, 2016-2017, Mid-Year was in Sierra Vista, AZ, Southwest District Convention was in Tempe, AZ, International Convention was in Paris, France. For 2016-2017 only three of the criteria were required to earn the 5 Star award as there was no official Kiwanis International President visit to the Southwest District and the International Convention was held off the North American continent. 

(Kiwanis International President Jane Erickson did visit the Southwest District four times. None of the visits were official visits.)

  • Southwest District Governor Ed Verburg’s official visit to the Division.
  • International President Jim Rochford’s official visit to the District.
  • Southwest District Mid-Year Educational Conference.
  • Southwest District Convention.
  • International Convention (unless held outside the North American continent).

For Governor Ed Verburg, 2017-2018, Mid-Year is in Santa Fe, NM and Flagstaff, AZ; District Convention (DCON) is in El Paso, TX August 3rd to the 5th; International Convention (ICON) is in Las Vegas, NV June 28th-July 1st. For more information about ICON click this link ICON LINK
